Celebrating Women in STEM
Join us for a symposium to support, celebrate and advocate for women in science and engineering.
Hosted by McMaster University Libraries and the McMaster WISE Initiative, the afternoon will feature a keynote address, a panel discussion, as well as informal round-table discussions led by members of the McMaster community.

1:00 p.m.: Keynote by Dr. Rita Orji
Dr. Rita Orji is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science , Dalhousie University. Her research areas include Human-Computer Interaction, Persuasive Technology, Games for Change, and Digital Health. Her research group is particularly interested in investigating user-centered approaches to designing interactive systems to motivate people for actions and causes that are beneficial for them and their communities as well as how interactive systems can be designed for the under-served population (HCI for Development (HCI4D)). This event is part of a special year of programming aimed at celebrating the ways in which the Library supports research, teaching and learning related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Organized in partnership with the Health Sciences Library and the McMaster WISE Initiative.
