Archives Spotlight: Medieval Manuscripts - Book of Hours In-Person

We are pleased to present a regular series of talks which explore highlights of the collections in greater depth. These focused events focus on particular items, archives, or subject areas to explore the broader themes, events, and stories reflected in our holdings.

Medieval Manuscripts: Book of Hours

Travel back in time and discover the fascinating life of a single manuscript book – one of the Library’s true gems. Learn how the book was crafted by hand from the production of the pages to the team of artists who wrote and illustrated the text. Discover the numerous ways the book was nearly lost to revolution, reformation, and war. Why have people taken the time to keep and care for this single tome for over five hundred years?
